You are able to refer yourself to the clinic for assessment and treatment.
If the condition is the result of an injury and is covered by ACC then there is a surcharge with your first hand therapy consultation. There is no surcharge for follow up appointments. Any splinting costs are covered by ACC. ACC documentation can be completed at the Hand Clinic.
Note Work related gradual process injury claims must be completed by a General Practitioner (GP). If you are being treated for an injury that is accepted by ACC your first treatment will incur a surcharge of $30 (or $25 if paid on the day). There is no surcharge for follow up appointments. Any splinting costs are coverd by ACC.
If you require exercise equipment as part of your rehabilitation, this will be charged to you. The charge will vary depending on your requirements. Your therapist will discuss these options with you during your appointment.
Even if your injury or condition is not covered by ACC or any other insurer, you may choose to visit our clinic as a private patient. Costs will vary depending on the treatment you require so please contact us for more information. The Merivale Hand Clinic is open between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Satellite clinic hours vary so please contact us for their current hours. This is very dependant on the condition and its presentation. Your hand therapist will discuss this with your at your initial appointment. Generally your first appointment or consultation will take 40 minutes. This will include an assessment and splinting (if required). Subsequent appointments are usually 20 or 30 minutes in duration although some conditions may require more time and attention.
